ACGT has been accepted into the Independent Charities of America’s Federation, specifically CancerCURE of America. Their mission is to represent charities that meet the highest standards of public accountability and program effectiveness and to facilitate gifts to those charities from contributors in fund drives conducted at work and on the web. These standards include those required by the US Government for inclusion in the Combined Federal Campaign, probably the most exclusive fund drive in the world. Of the 1,000,000 charities operating in the United States today, it is estimated that fewer than 50,000, or 5 percent, meet or exceed these standards, and, of those, fewer than 2,000 have been awarded this Seal.
ACGT is approved by the coalition of the Better Business Bureau and the National Charities Information Bureau for meeting the highest standards of governance, effectiveness, public communications and financial responsibility. The BBB Wise Giving Alliance Standards for Charity Accountability were developed to assist donors in making sound giving decisions and to foster public confidence in charitable organizations. The standards seek to encourage fair and honest solicitation practices, to promote ethical conduct by charitable organizations and to advance support of philanthropy.
ACGT is a Gold-level GuideStar Exchange participant, demonstrating our commitment to transparency. GuideStar gathers and disseminates information about IRS-registered nonprofit organizations. At no cost to the public, GuideStar provides information about a nonprofit’s mission, legitimacy, impact, reputation, finances, programs, and governance to help consumers make wise giving decisions.
ACGT is part of CancerCure of America (CCURE). CCURE is a federation of America’s finest national organizations dedicated to leading the way with new treatment modalities, better patient care, and research for a cure. CancerCURE offer donors a wide range of organizations working to eradicate cancer through research and education. However, until that happens, we are here to help improve healthcare and quality of life through grants, education, and support. All CCURE agencies are screened annually to ensure that they meet the highest standards of substantive program services, management and fiscal responsibility.
ACGT is a participant charitable organization in the Combined Federal Campaign (CFC). The CFC promotes and supports philanthropy through a program that is employee focused, cost-efficient, and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. CFC is the world’s largest and most successful annual workplace charity campaign, with almost 200 CFC campaigns throughout the country and overseas raising millions of dollars each year. Pledges made by Federal civilian, postal and military donors during the campaign season (September 1st to December 15th) support eligible non-profit organizations that provide health and human service benefits throughout the world.
