Vice President Translational Medicine & Pharmacogenomics Eli Lilly and Company Indianapolis, IN University before joining a tumor angiogenesis research program at Monsanto Corporation. He subsequently earned his M.D. degree with specialized training in Internal Medicine and Hematology and Oncology (University of Michigan). He joined the faculty at the University of Pennsylvania in 1993 as the Ann B. Young Assistant Professor of Medicine and Director of the Cancer Gene Therapy Programs. While at the University of Pennsylvania, he worked on a number of gene therapy and immunotherapy translational research projects. In 2002, he joined Pfizer Global Research and Development in their Oncology Therapeutic Area. He has served in several roles encompassing early and full development, including serving as the Clinical Site Head for Neuroscience and Oncology. He later was appointed Vice President of Molecular Medicine, a global group within Pfizer that seeks to develop more precision therapeutics through the application of pharmacogenomics, proteomics, metabonomics and RNA profiling and as Vice President of Translational Medicine. In 2007 he joined Eli Lilly & Company as Vice President of Translational Medicine & Pharmacogenomics. In this role he is responsible for Lilly's studies of genetic contributions to diseases and drug response, and for the implementation of studies that bring new medicines with novel mechanism of action into clinical testing. < Return to Scientific Advisory Council |
